Fogle Counseling: Introduction + Qualifications

My name is Adam and I am a licensed counselor (LCPC) as well as a certified addictions counselor (CAC-AD) and an approved supervisor in the state of Maryland.  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Salisbury University and a master’s degree in counseling from McDaniel College.  I started Fogle Counseling Services after nearly 20 years of experience in the public sector. I worked within the public school system, the addictions field, and in the mental health sector.  My background and experience equip me to genuinely understand and support a wide range of concerns, helping clients feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their journey.

Fogle's Mission and Philosophy

My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space where the client can become their authentic and genuine self.  It is my belief that the therapy process is a partnership between therapist and client and one where the clients become empowered and improve their ability to advocate for themselves.  Understanding and expressing emotions is paramount in the therapy process and can be best accessed when there is a strong sense of belonging, mutual respect, understanding and growth.

Therapy Approach and Process

I use a variety of counseling techniques in sessions which pull from various approaches, including but not limited to: Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy.  I have learned through experience that specific and structured plans for therapy (developed by the clinician) can often limit the therapeutic experience and thus, I empower the client to present topics to address rather than to tell the client what they must work on.  This approach often allows the client space in order to uncover the real issues below the surface, leading to lasting growth and self-awareness.

Therapy requires effort and commitment- in other words- you will get out of it what you put into it! Therefore, the ”right fit” is essential when it comes to finding a therapist that will best fit your needs.  So, I invite you to request a free 15-minute phone consultation in order to determine if I might be the best fit for your growth journey.
